"Get Happy" - Elvis Costello & the Attractions - One of Elvis' classic first 5 albums. 20 genius songs in an hour. It's a perfect summer album.
"Mclusky Do Dallas" - Mclusky - If you like Rock and Roll and you don't own this album already then you need to fix that immediately. It's in your syllabus. Produced by Steve Albini and it shows.
"I See the Sign" - Samamidon - Almost every band that references Americana in their sound claims to be updating and recontexualizing the genre. Samamidon is one of the few that actually do it. This album features awesome arrangements by Nico Muhly and the best R Kelly cover you will ever hear.
More interviews to come!
